Free Self-Paced Computer Skills Classes at the Library!Have you ever wanted to learn about using the computer, but need to progress at your own pace? The St. Tammany Parish Library would like to help you! Bill Larsen-Ruffin, Head of the Reference Department, will hold free self-paced computer skills improvement classes at the Causeway, and Slidell branch libraries. The computer sessions will teach participants how to use LearningExpress Library’s database to improve computer skills. The computer skills classes will take place at the following libraries:
In the following months, the classes will be repeated at libraries throughout the parish. Larsen-Ruffin said, "Ever take a class where the teacher was too slow or too fast, or where you wanted some of the instruction to be repeated, but there wasn't time? This is not a problem with self-paced instruction, since you are in control. We will walk you through the LearningExpress login process and let you experience whichever computer tutorial you would like to explore." Classes are open to individuals who possess rudimentary computer skills. Two identical one-hour sessions will be offered each day and participants must register for either of the one-hour sessions.
