Author Bernard Smith to Present “Random Allotment”

Author Bernard Smith will present his newly published crime-suspense novel “Random Allotment” from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 3, at the Slidell Library, 555 Robert Blvd., Slidell. The novel, whose action takes place in St. Tammany, was a finalist in the William Faulkner-William Wisdom Creative Writing Competition for 2012. Smith will speak about his book and discuss the writing and self-publishing process

Smith is currently employed as an Assistant District Attorney in St. Tammany Parish. He served as mayor of Mandeville from 1976 to 1980 and also as head of many local and state organizations during his career as an attorney at law.

The event is free and open to the public although registration is recommended. Light refreshments will be available. Smith will be available to sign and sell his book.  Seating space is limited to adults.
