PERFORMER DESCRIPTIONS
CALLIOPE PUPPETS will present a puppet show based on the fairytale “Puss In Boots”. Calliope Puppets enthrall family audiences through dynamic theater employing a wide variety of puppetry techniques in entertaining as well as educational programs of traditional and original tales.
DAISY THE PIG AND FARMER MINOR share Daisy noises; tell stories about Daisy's pampered porcine life and about how she became the most famous pig U.S. See your local librarian give Daisy a big kiss too!
DIANNE DE LAS CASAS adapts and retells traditional folklore through stories filled with her unique brand of fun audience participation. Kids and grown-ups alike will sing, chant, dance, create sound effects, clap, and move.
FUZZLEBOB, the local comedian for kids, uses high energy antics, audience participation and music. Fuzzlebob weaves stories that keep the kids in stitches. He will also make every child a balloon sculpture.
GRAYHAWK is a local Houma storyteller who shares original Native American stories. Members of the audience become part of the story by acting out characters and singing traditional stomp friendship songs.
JOURNEY OF THE DRUM -Travel through history with this enchanting program that features traditional drumming and songs from South Africa, Ghana, Brazil, Haiti and even New Orleans.
POLICE DOG DEMONSTRATION. Police officers will talk about the important work police dogs do and demonstrate some training techniques.
MELONSONGS is a show featuring musician Philip Melancon that incorporates music and stories including a piano, ukelele, clarinet and accordion.
MISS LILLIE, St. Tammany Parish Library’s own storyteller extraordinaire, will present stories that will encourage you to Paws to Read.
PAPILLION presents a musical, storytelling performance that is a delightful gumbo of Cajun music created for young children, and of course... a lagniappe dash of Cajun storytelling served up with toe tappin', two steppin' fun!
TRICKY TRIGG is a teenage magician. His show is called "Magic of the Library" and he will encourage children to use the library.
