Silent Auction

Friends of the Slidell Library to hold 24 Silent Auctions in 2012

The Friends of the Slidell Library plan to hold 24 Silent Auctions during 2012.  Silent Auctions will be held twice a month in the Slidell Branch Library, 555 Robert Blvd., display cases adjacent to the staff workroom on the meeting room side of the branch building.

Silent Auction items will include books and some non-book items, which have been selected from donated items over the past few years.  All the items are pre-owned and are in good to excellent condition.  They have been selected for inclusion in the silent auctions due to their subject matter, interest of possible collectors, uniqueness, and local interest.  Most of the silent auctions will be organized by the subject matter or theme of the auction items.  The following auctions have been planned:  Louisiana and the South, Cookbooks, Biographies, Reference Books, Civil War, World Wars, Popular Culture, and many more.

All silent auction items have minimum bids and minimum bid increments of $1.00.  Bids are placed in person and high bidders do not have to be present to win.  High bidders will be notified by telephone or email and must pick up items within 7 days or the item will default to the next highest bidder.  All monies raised help to provide support to the Slidell, Lacombe, and Pearl River Branch Libraries.

Detailed lists of the individual items included in each auction may be requested by email to fsl70458@yahoo.com.
