Eat Your Greens at the Library:
Local Master Gardeners Teach How to Make a Fall “Greens” Garden

ABITA SPRINGS –While eating your greens will keep body healthy, growing your greens will keep your wallet healthy. St. Tammany master gardeners will teach participants the three components of a fall “greens” garden: soil preparation and proper pH, creative ways of planting lettuces and greens, and exciting and different recipes using a variety of greens. The event will take place from 4:00 to 5:30 p.m., on Wednesday, October 17, at the St. Tammany Parish Library Abita Springs Branch, 71683 Leveson St., Abita Springs.

Master gardener Martha Gruning stated, “We’ll be planting seeds in fun and unusual ways, and we will also provide recipes.”             
The event is free and open to the public, and registration is recommended. Seating space is limited to adults. Register by calling the Abita Springs Branch at 893-6285
