With Author, Marie Louise Guste Nix
Would you like to develop your creativity? Marie Louise Guste Nix, author of several inspirational books, will teach you how to develop and nurture your artistic sensibilities. Whether your interest is writing, pottery, dance or any form of expression, the program “Developing Creativity” will be of interest to you. Two identical programs will be held: on Tuesday, March 12, 2013 from 6 to 7:30 p.m.at the Covington Branch , 310 W. 21st Ave, Covington, 985-893-6280, and on Wednesday, March 13, 2013 from 6 to 7:30 p.m.at the Slidell Branch, 555 Robert Blvd, Slidell, 985-646-6470.
Nix, a native New Orleanian now living in St. Tammany Parish, has studied theology and holds a L.L.B. from Loyola University School of Law. Her three published books Visions of Splendor, Transportation, and Restoring Soul form “The Trilogy of the Three Wheels.”
Participants should bring paper and a pen. During the Developing Creativity program, participants will learn the following skills:
Becoming attuned to creative power
Using journaling, meditation, centering, and other methods to increase creativity
Becoming aware of various perspectives on creativity : as play therapy, as opposed to a contest of value or skill; as catharsis, connecting to one's truest self; as letting go, and releasing tension and issues in one's life.
