In association with the Northshore Poetry Society and the Walker Percy Southern Literary Festival, the St. Tammany Parish Library recently hosted a night of poetry inspired by the life and works of Walker Percy.  This special podcast is the entire evening featuring readings by several local poets and hosted by Dr. David Schoen. It was an evening of laughter, somber reflection, and tribute.  (Runtime  67:47)

8/28/2009 - General Library Podcast (Adult) - Episode 013 - This episode includes highlights from a recent library program called "An Acadiana Afternoon".  It features an exclusive musical performance by the Grammy nominated Cajun band The Lost Bayou Ramblers.  Also included is an interesting lecture by one of the band's members, Louis Michot, about CRIA (Cultural Research Institute of Acadiana).  CRIA is creating a bank for seeds and traditional knowledge in order to preserve the treasures of southern Louisiana and pass it on to future generations.
