Genealogy Social at the Library:
Network with the Genealogy Librarian and Other Genealogists
COVINGTON–To celebrate Family History Month, the St. Tammany Parish Library is hosting a Genealogy Social. Ashley Biggs, Genealogy Librarian, is holding the gathering for anyone interested in genealogical research. A short tour of the Louisiana and Genealogy Room will introduce beginners to the genealogy collection and research tools. More experienced genealogists and those new to research will mingle, mix, and help each other overcome roadblocks. The event will take place from 6:00 to 7:30p.m. on Monday, October 15, at the Covington Branch Library, 310 West 21st Avenue, Covington.
"I've always enjoyed hearing stories about the past and the people who've gone before," Ashley Biggs, Genealogy Librarian said. "This program is a way for those who have great genealogical stories, who have roadblocks, or who want to make connections to get together and teach each other what they know. I can't wait!”
The event, which will include light refreshments, is free and open to the public, and registration is recommended. Register online at the following web address: register.stpl.us/evanced/lib/eventcalendar.asp or call Ashley Biggs,
